nobreakthroughs. is Moving Out
Farewell, Substack!
Hello friends,
The updates haven’t been as consistent as I planned at the start of the year, mostly because in January, I didn’t think I would be opening a Publishing House and Publishing a Print Magazine (with hopes to expand to digital work, too, sooner rather than later).
I opened this Substack a lifetime ago, because it was so easy to just onboard. You do not have to do a lot to get going on Substack. Punch in the URL, name it, throw a couple of rudimentary banners together and off you go. The lack of friction is the chief — maybe only — reason I picked it. Another outlet to write some things.
But there’s a time when you just have to do a little extra work if you want to build something worthwhile and lasting for others (and yourself). And the internet is a wild west these days. AI is everywhere, human work is harder to find. Substack is yet another platform I have to be beholden too.
So, after a three-month break, I’m leaving for a Ghost-hosted website, because its fully mine, the tools are better, I can control things better, readers supported this move via Ko-Fi (thank you thank you thank you!) and because Substack loves its Nazi content. I also have a whole new domain for the site (thanks to Tracey for all the help leading me through computer stuff because I am a dummy)
You can find the new newsletter at nobreakthroughs.com.
[UPDATE: If you sign up here and I see it come through, I will just transfer your email straight over to the Ghost site]
If I have done everything correctly, then everyone who signed up here should still be signed up there. Which means, it will still be the same old nobreakthroughs, and you don’t have to do anything — you’ll keep getting the newsletter about unreliable science and unreliable scientists.
If you’d rather not, that’s totally fine! There’s an unsubscribe button in the first newsletter you’ll get.
Thanks for the support here, and hopefully there support there. It’s been fun.
Farewell Substack!
